But for me personally my preferred method is with the use of the ago old and mature FTP protocol. Most linux distros these days come with very basic network managers and though they work fine they are not too good for doing advanced tasks such as managing multiple wireless network. To face these criticisms Wlcd was created, it is designed to be a nice and simple network manager.

The major problem with KDE 4.1, that is holding many people back from using it is that when you install it on distros like Ubuntu all main programs run fine and load up but nothing other then a white screen is displayed this appears to be a bug in KDE 4.1 and not Ubuntu.
